Sacramento, CA- The Board of Directors of the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (SCDSA) has officially endorsed Kirk Thomson for Elk Grove Unified School Board, Area 2. When his children started attending Elk Grove Unified Schools, Kirk stepped up as a parent and got invested in the district; what he saw raised concerns. Student outcomes were not where they should be, the district was facing significant budget shortfalls, and programs that directly support learning were being scaled back. At the same time, many families felt left out of important decisions.
“Every student deserves to feel safe at school,” said Thomson. “When safety is in question, everything else suffers. I’m proud to have the support of the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association and will work to make sure every campus in Elk Grove is a place where students can focus on learning and reaching their full potential.”
“We are honored to endorse Kirk Thomson, a dedicated parent and advocate whose children are part of the school district he seeks to serve. He is committed to the children of the district, and as a major part of the safety, we are happy to partner with him in his endeavor.”-Sergeant Nathan Seger, SCDSA President.
