For Immediate Release: September 29, 2021

Sacramento, CA – The Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, the largest law enforcement labor organization in Northern California, is proud to endorse Thien Ho in his campaign for Sacramento County District Attorney. Thien, a refugee from Vietnam, is a graduate of UC Davis and McGeorge School of Law. He has worked his way up to his current rank of Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney, and was a lead prosecutor on the infamous East Area Rapist case.

According to Mr. Ho, “The endorsement of the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association further demonstrates the continuing momentum of my candidacy for Sacramento District Attorney. I am truly honored to have their support. Our campaign for District Attorney is building a diverse coalition so we can bring real prosecutorial experience and a balanced approach to protecting our communities, provide justice for victims and ensure our system serves everyone equally.”

“We are endorsing Thien Ho for Sacramento County District Attorney because he is the best candidate to ensure that the rights of crime victims will be prioritized over those of criminals arrested by our members. Our members work hard to keep communities safe and provide reentry services to mitigate the criminal justice system from being a revolving door, but they can’t do it alone. We need a strong District Attorney to work alongside for public safety to function efficiently in Sacramento County, and Thien Ho is the best candidate.” -Kevin Mickelson, S.C.D.S.A. President.
