Sacramento, CA- The Board of Directors of the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (SCDSA) has endorsed Dave Reid for re-election to the Folsom Cordova Unified School District Board, Area 3. Reid has worked throughout his career with legislative bodies, executive agencies, and nonprofit associations on education policy and programs. His local involvement has included serving as President of the Folsom Cordova PTA Council, a member of the FCUSD Measure G Bond Oversight Committee and Sandra J. Gallardo Elementary PTA Board, a founding member of the Folsom Cordova Education Foundation, and Chairman of the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Reid and his wife, Karen, have three children who attended Folsom Cordova Unified schools.

Reid stated, “I am honored and humbled to have received the endorsement from the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association. FCUSD works closely with our law enforcement partners in conjunction with our School Resource Officer Program. The highly specially trained officers that are a part of the SRO Program are a vital part of our school community. They know our students, staff, and administrators and celebrate with us at events and activities throughout the year.”

“Dave Reid has already proven where he stands when it comes to keeping our schools safe. When others sought to eliminate School Resource Officers from Folsom Cordova schools, Dave stood up for the value of having trained law enforcement professionals on campus and helped preserve that partnership. For the deputies and officers who work every day to build relationships with students and protect our schools, that matters. Dave didn’t just talk about supporting public safety when it was easy, he stood with law enforcement when that partnership was on the line. SCDSA is proud to support Dave Reid for reelection.” – Sergeant Nathan Seger, President of SCDSA.
